If you’re like me, you prefer to smoke out of a clean bowl. Here’s how I keep my personal pipe collection sanitary and reusable. It only takes about 5 minutes per pipe and I do it every 1-2 months. This method of pipe cleaning is for utility purposes only. It will not restore a used pipe to a like-new status. There’s no need for boiling water which is what makes it so convenient.
What you need:
- Dirty pipe
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Container (that the pipe fits in)
- Hot tap water
- Sponge
- Q-tips (optional)
Step 1: Soak the pipe in rubbing alcohol.
Step 2: Turn on the hot water. Swirl/agitate the pipe while you wait.
Step 3: Once the water is hot begin to rinse the pipe out. Always start with the water going through the mouthpiece. Using more water pressure is better but be careful to have any exit hole pointing toward the sink/drain.
Step 4: Repeatedly soak and rinse the pipe until the water comes out clean. Use Q-tips soaked in rubbing alcohol for any crevices as needed. Clean the sink with a sponge when you finish. Doing this while everything is still hot prevents resin stains.
Step 5: Gently blow out the pipe to dry.
