I’m throwing my own birthday party this year. Sunday September 6 @ the P&H. Come celebrate the impending end of Summer by rocking your face off with great local music. 5$ cover – Be Nice Or Leave.
I haven’t thrown a proper party since my dog died (Irish wake). I’ve made random attempts at birthday parties in the past. The only successful one was 21. I supplied a keg and $300 of liquor for the most epic house party on Evelyn Ave. In the first hour I downed a bottle of champagne and had hot sex in my boyfriend’s roommate’s private bathroom. The boyfriend passed out asleep after that and I descended into a night of drunken debauchery. I clearly remember doing a 2-second keg-stand and going for a ride on some guy’s crotch rocket. (Bike, not cock.) I think nearly 200 people filtered through the party. I was so flattered that they were there to help me drink tons of free booze. My 21-year old priorities were not well aligned.
This time I’m creating a party that I want to enjoy. If other people show up, more the better. The P&H is kind enough to provide a space and run the cash bar, so I get to spend more money on what I really want control over – the music. I asked all the bands I’ve had a great time listening to in the past year, not-to-mention dancing!
I miss shaking it on a good dance floor. Let me be clear, dance floors only exist where people are dancing. Want to get me an easy birthday present this year. Spend $5 and shake your groove thang.
