Living in the present is contradicted when working a day job. Some of us are lucky to find moderately fulfilling employment early on.  Alas, no matter how great the situation, it’s still work. I’m sure there are days when even the Crocodile Hunter wanted to just sleep in. The goal isn’t a job to love. It’s finding a purpose that isn’t simultaneously soul-crushing. 

The only thing that got me to the non-soul-crushing position I’m in is consistent work. Even a shitty job is better than no job. That’s when you should live in your dreams. Spend time figuring out which part of your current crappy position is the most offensive and seek out something that doesn’t involve that.  With some luck, we all eventually settle into doing something for a living.  Even if that means changing jobs every 6 months.
