Blurbs. For the “too long, didn’t read” folks. ;-)

Dancing = Yoga

I want to dance with somebody
I want to feel the heat with somebody
I want to dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me.

Negatives

I can’t help you.
Honest to the core.
Values keep better
in cold weather.
Keep warming up
Always prepared
Put me in coach
Man to man
Defensive zone
Pulling pushing
Always boring.

Make a decision
For once
shut up.
Hollow self
respect failing
undercut by
shifting sands
and perpetual change.
It doesn’t get easier.

Keep your heart
No vacancy here.
Drop the pride
Become you.
No concern
at this point
in the game.
The team
already won.

Dark Eyes

Heavy brow
Caverns carved
Under crags
Scooped space.

Dark above
Shaded below
No smile
Just spark

A firefly
in swamps
of stoicism
Guarded.

Fiercely intent
burning holes
into every
page turner.

War games
with friends.
Creamy caffeine
Long break.

A fascination
Unrequited
Better for
desire unrealized.

On My Mind

Noticeably not there
Gap in thought
Momentary pause
I like you.

Nothing changes.
Day goes on.
I do feel lighter.
Or more relaxed.

Complications
mounting.
People
staring.
Rumors
spreading.
Tales on the river
travel far and wide.

No subscription.
Not interested.
Another still
instant.

It’s always
quiet ones.
On my mind.

Pool Cue

Give you a ride?
The kangaroo asks.
Why is he drinking?

Another East Midtown creation.
All having the same conversation
About the right way to do things

Given up, holding over
Delayed due to whether
Or not I can cut it.

Alone in a venue, poised.
More concerned with pain
Less concerned with desire.

Enough places to look and I’m
Never settling. Intimidating?
Don’t mess with the quiet one.

The Moon is Heavy

I haven’t had any alcohol for a week.
My decisions have gotten better.
My anxiety hasn’t.

The fact is, a little bit of beer lowers your blood pressure, relaxes your muscles and impedes the thinking process – all things that ease social insecur-*ahem* anxiety.

Floating in a pool eases stress.

A Hard Bargain

Things
Fighting
To be there.

The warmth of the sun
Shared by all
Peer pressure
to enjoy it.

I can hear all the music.
It makes me smile.
Things I get
out of my head
The work I do
to keep them in.
Faultless.
Grand.

Working through it.
Walking through it.
Wading through it.
Swimming… tonight?

Southern Comfort

Casually watching
Refusing to move
Placidly observing
Chaos stirring
Vision blurring
It’s all good
Relax.
I’m just a cat.
