Blindspot

I float along the drift of this case where I met one guy while decorating the lights for a place I’d never been before it was time to see the people dance with wolves in the long night alone. Then the light shone over his shoulder twice before not seeing me sitting next to someone on the balcony making conversation with a girl who once hated my face is red from thoughts in my head about you in the arms of my care and innocence lost forever.

Do you feel it too?
I see you.
Vibrating
at my speed.

Making my way out of town.
I hope you get to know me before then.
The best thing about me is the people I know.

Clothes Mountain
Sits before me.
It was in a black hole
Disguised as a closet.
I discovered the rift
While exploring
Feng Shui, aka,
Cleaning the kitchen.
Upper Middle Class guilt
Compels me to give
Them all away, just so
I can’t neglect them.
The children nor the clothes.
Instead I swept up
A salad of cat byproducts
And three toenails.
Yoga for balance
A quick realignment
Breathing light
Into the dark.
A quick respite
Scissors ready.
Enthusiasm ingested.
Time to demolish
Some retail value.

Phrases that point fingers
Aren’t conducive to growth
Not you, I and me, you say?
I work better with directions
And my own clever devices
Needlessly intrusive energy
Does not make me shine.
I’m on this side of the fence
I am doing my best to behave
I am quiet most of the time.
My actions are the proof.
I have boundaries to honor
I love the life I am building
Good fences and cement walls
Make business banter better
Stop looking for an insult
In everything I ever say
I’m not a mean person
I see the entropy is all.
My core is less shakeable.
Gotta look out for the quiet ones
I always say.

Prehistoric co-dependence
Each leg from a different body
Using each other just to stay upright
Finding beauty in symmetry

for balance.

I’m gonna make the jump.
Standing at the edge of the forest
Peering across an endless open space
Squinting through the haze
Desperate to find the nearest haven
Away from the burning glares
Apart from the slogging wasteland
Of media-driven fear-based rhetoric
And the newest way to lose 10 pounds.
No reason I can’t, a few reasons I won’t.
When shopping for a new heart
Healthy is pretty premium quality
Almost died last night, only 6 ft away
Instead, I cried. And didn’t feel loved.

Detachment
Floating through time
Learning to choose the moment
Before it chooses you
Not thin
Never fat
Caressing egos
Stroking thighs
Collars chafe more than cuffs
Now about those hemorrhoids
Classy
Sassy
Kinda gross
We all have to eat!
Dare you
Shake the peach tree
Succulent
Fleshy
All grown up
Not ready to settle.
