I don’t particularly find hair sexy. I’m not a huge fan of hairless either. It’s a strange paradox that amuses me. In general, I accept that humans have hair and I’m always glad it’s not fur. (Re: fleas) I don’t want to find any in my food and I can’t stand having a hair stuck in my throat but that doesn’t mean it’s evil. Completely hairless humans don’t seem real to me. An impractical amount of personal attention is required for that standard of smoothness. Moderation means there’s still evidence that the hair was there at one point. And I really like the soft feeling of stubble in its various stages. If you’ve never tried a straight razor shave, I recommend it.
I feel like grooming is an important thing to take pride in, even if it echos strange adages like “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” in my head. I mean, even the yoga sutras talk about having a certain hygiene standard and that’s in India. I’ve found every style of hair interesting for what it is but I’m only liable to plunge my face into something freshly washed. Just saying. My pets are all short hair for a reason. As with any physical quality it’s not what you have, it’s what you do with it.
