I want to dance with somebody
I want to feel the heat with somebody
I want to dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me.
Yoga is like dancing. Not the way Mr. Iyengar does it. He looks like a military drill. Then again, I saw marching on the dance floor under a Full Moon. Yoga is smooth and light. Balance creates a center. Awareness spreads as feeling manifests throughout the body.
Sex is like dancing. Spoiler alert, most of it is the boring face-to-face, side-to-side sway children do in 7th grade. As you get older, the dancing usually gets better. Sex takes more work. Both involve a lot of sweat. Rhythm helps.
Cooking is like dancing. Precision and improvisation. Sizzling and stirring. Timing’s important but so is flavor. The more you do it the easier it gets and when you’re really good, people want to watch. Never the same experience, always fun. Just don’t cut yourself.
Talking is like dancing. An intimate experience you have in public. All styles, all places. Alone, in pairs, whole groups. No protection but the masks we wear. No control over interpretations. Intent is the most important thing. Just like in yoga.
